How do I delete download history, without deleting files? Help pls…
You mean the download history in Dolphin HD v4.0? We will soon add it.
When I want to check yahoo mail on m.yahoo.com I always get message “The requested item could not be loaded! (Status Code: 502)”. Why? When I check same site with internal browser, all is fine. Thanks

I use Dolphin HD. I saw a link to (& executed) download Dolphin Beta – “built on Android 1.6 format”. Have I downloaded the original, non-HD version? I don’t want to set my new download as my “default browser”, as I’m not sure if this is an update on HD, or if it’s the antiquated, original Dolphin Browser.
Clearly, I see differences. I’m just not sure if this is an old release (it had today’s date, 11/12/10 on the info page) or if I’m now using the latest version of the browser.

You mean you click the link in Dolphin Homepage, and download a new Dolphin?
Is there any way to change the default search from Google.com to Google.co.uk – so that, when I press the magnifying glass search button on my Desire whilst in Dolphin, I search UK sites? It’s pretty annoying to always get US results.

Back when I installed the browser, there was this incredible feature that allowed to me to pull down this window from a little green tab, and in it, I could view the actual pages of the tabs I had open without actually opening them. How can I get this feature back? It came with the browser.

So you have this problem in Dolphin HD v4.0? You can search Dolphin in youtube to find the online DB manual. And you can find it in Dolphin Blog, too.
I would really like to see the ability to allow more than one popup. I was able to get myself all the way into my Office communicator app until the final screen where it wants to open the popup chat client but I receicved the dreaded “could not open a new popup window because only one can be open at a time” So close

i have a problem with my internal HDD. When this all happened, i was playing a game online. I got a Virus Worm and i shut down my computer and reformatted my HDD and put windows back on. I had a secondary HDD in for back-up purposes. so got windows in and put everything back, but i then noticed that my computers performance went down drastically with my main HDD, I could not copy anything i had onto the back-up drive and once i did it was so slow to copy the file. Once i had all the files on the back-up drive, i decided to start from the back-up drive with windows. Same applied. It was really slow with the reading-and-writing. i decided to take the secondary back-up drive out and boot from the main HDD. Everything seemed to be running smoothly i checked the main HDD Temperature with HD tune. The drives temp was 37 degrees Celsius, and the drive went to normal temperature of 43-44 degrees Celsius. I then decided to plug in the secondary HDD and leave it on for a day. the temperature went from 43-44 degrees to 47-48 degrees Celsius. So my guess is that the HDD drives are getting way to hot, and i am getting what seems like bad sectors in the drive, but it has never done this before. I have always had my back-up drive in ever since i got my main HDD. I can’t place my finger on what is wrong with my drives. Once the main HDD is lower temperatures the drive seems to be performing better. but its normal temperature is 43-44 degrees Celsius and i still have some problems with reading and writing then. Can someone tell me what has happened please. I dont know if it was from the worm virus or if the temperatures are getting too hot (but has never done this before) can someone tell me what to do. I have changed the line leading into the motherboard as well, and that seems to have no effect. i even swapped the board lines between the CD drives and the HDD drives, no effect on that either. can someone tell me what is going on, i have ran out of options.

My uncle took my computer to get it fixed after it got hit with a hard virus last year. he said there should be a virus protection on it, but i can’t find it anywher, I want to run a virus scan because something popped up telling me i have a virus. But i clicked off of it because i wasn’t sure if THAT was a virus or real. Where do I go in my computer to make sure i have a anti Virus protection, (and a fire wall) I want to download AVG to make sure, but will something bad happen if i try to download a virus protection IF i already have one that i dont know about? Anytime I am connected to wireless internet it periodically stops functioning as if I am no longer connected. However, the computer shows that it is still connected, and people around me are having no problems at all. This usually happens four or five times in a two hour period. I try reconnecting, but it only lasts maybe ten minutes. My computer is regularly scanned for viruses.

This is the 3rd time iv deleted and reinstalled Dolphin HD on HTC Desire 2.2.
Its a realy frustrating issue where i cannot use the Gesture Swype to go BACK! Every time i swype back it constantly loads the Facebook page…( is this a bug of some sort, my phone is running stock orange (froyo 2.2)
Pls make gesture relatively different with other gesture’s shape. Maybe the gesture you made is similar to “f”.
How about support for a download manager with pause and resume capability? Nothing worse than loosing hours of work when I go through a dead zone while trying to DL large files
Oh, and this browser is an absolute killer app. I tell everyone I know to install and use it (and 99% agree it is the best out there)

On my Dolphin HD I have changed the user agent so the browser identifies itself as a desktop browser.
This works ok but not for all sites.

When I open this website in dolphin hd it always go to the top of the page and won’t let you make a choice. HTC EVO 4G with froyo 2.2 The website work fine in the original evo browser.

I love Dolphin HD. However, I find that in my iGoogle page, I am unable to switch between various tabs. It would be nice to fix that. It also seems to be an issue with the stock browser. So I don’ t know what is the problem.

Best mobile browser ever! But I really would love the possibility to easily e-mail a file that has been downloaded.
This is the best browser for Android, but I have a few questions and problems.
Is there any way to eliminate the tabs from the address toolbar? That toolbar is too tall for me. Actually, the whole way tabs are selected could be improved.
Is Dolphin open source? I ask because I’d like to make some improvements to the UI myself if possible.
These issues aside, Dolphin is an excellent app. Thanks for all your work! I’ve been trying Firefox fennec, but even if I prefer its UI, fennec is missing too many critical features, like Flash or text selection and pasting. I doubt it will ever catch up with Dolphin.
One more thing, do you know if anyone has an ad blocker plug-in on the fire similar to AdBlock Plus for Firefox? The one I saw for Dolphin apparently still downloads the content. I want one which actually blocks common advertiser’s URL’s.

If you have some suggestion for the UI of Dolphin, you can email us and send your suggestion to us. Currently we don’t open source.
Dolphin also has Adblocker (beta version), but it has some defects. We will perfect it then.
I have tried everything in the FAQ to delete my unwanted bookmarks. I have the newer hd dolphin. When I go to menu, more, bookmarks, and hold link to bring up menu; there is no delete button. All edit does is let me change name of bookmark. What am I doing wrong?
You don’t drag down to the bottom of the context menu, the option of “delete bookmarks” is at bottom of the pop-up windows.
My business email requires a double tap to open new mail, when I do this is simply zooms/re-sizes thus not allowing the email to open. Can this be solved please? Simon.

Can Dolphin HD save ssl certificates instead of having accept every time?
First of all i would like to say that i love this browser! I suggest it to many android users. In the past when I went to espn.com I could access the video footage on the desktop page. Since this update the video wont play. All it does is go to a screen with a blue block with a question mark in it then shows me a still screen instead of a video. Both the stock browser and skyfire play these videos. I have the settings set the same way I always do but, it seems to be a no go. Could you please tell me if I am doing something wrong or if dolphin is malfunctioning or limited in its functions.

I use a forum website for my school, it uses a scroll bar feture for veiwing the posts, although when using the dolphin browser it just shows a specific size box and it wont let me scroll the box within the page. So I can’t see all the posts. Any ideas?

I shall be uninstalling your browser as soon as I finish writing this,twice yesterday I posted about an error where ssl sites are unable to load because your browser states that the ssl certification is invalid when the certificate is perfectly valid,and twice the posts disappeared,I doesn’t matter though as if you don’t want to hear of this problem the tech forums I’m a member of do
Hi, I’ve been using Dolphin HD for everyday and was very satisfied.
But yesterday, I upgraded my Droid X to Froyo.
And then, I’ve noticed a gesture not registering correctly.
I re-created ‘back’ gesture with the same default gesture,
but it still won’t do it. I had to totally change the gesture to “<"
Moreover, the scrolling has slight delay since the froyo update.
When I scroll up or down, it feels less responsive then before.
It's very minor, but when I'm scrolling up and down a lot,
it definitely bothers me.
I hope you address these issues soon.
BTW, I'm on version 3.0.

Dolphin HD seems to have a problem with loading some HTTPS sites,mentions
an invalid certificate,the certificate is valid until 2013, this error has been mentioned on the xda developers forum where the same certificate issuer was also mentioned.

Can I import my internet favorites from my sd card?
You can use bookmarks to SD to import/export bookmarks between the Stock browser, Dolphin Browser & Dolphin Browser HD. And you can also use the tool to sync your google bookmarks.
I have chosen “auto” for my “orientation” setting, but the orienation will not change when you rotate the phone. Landscape works if I set the orientatino to Landscape, but auto doesn’t.

For the first issue, please make sure that your system settings (I mean your phone settings) is correct and for the second one, it doesn’t support in the current version.
My workplace has access through a https page to email and both the default and Dolphin HD mention a security certificate problem and that the certificate is not a trusted authority from Terena SSL valid to 2013
Opera mini has no problem loading the SSL page

I updated to version 3.0 this AM and am now having errors with side scrollng zoomed pages. The bookmarks bar and tool bar open with the slightest horizontal drag and won’t allow access to the parts of the pavge they cover without dragging diagonally. Didn’t have this occur prior to the update. Help! I really liked this browser.

I got a low storage message on my EVO. I checked and dolphin HD is using 108 megs of storage. WTF?

Is there an option for the browser to recognize phone numbers on a webpage? On the stock Android browser, It recognizes phone numbers and it will import them into the dialer. Dolphin HD is not doing this.

I have a major problem:
when login on, lets say my.yahoo, I can enter my user id and password but after hitting login, the next page (https) stays white – nothing happens.
Same when I login to Wine Spectator.

No proxy settings in current Dolphin Browser HD version.
Where are bookmark folders? I recall this was promised a while ago. No matter how pretty the UI is, it is impossible to organize the 400+ bookmarks I import from my desktop without folders. Only Opera Mini supports this so far, so that’s my only Android browser choice at the moment.
Sorry for that, we are now working on the performance improvement and will release the newest 3.0.0 version to android market. And I promise to add the folder feature for bookmarks in the next update. Maybe we can send you a better before we publish it to android market.
v2.3.0 crashes a lot on my EVO (Froyo). The window just disappears, no force close pop-up. Also, scrolling seems to get stuck lately.
Feature request: Some web sites look better in Desktop/GWT/Mobile/Android/iPhone mode/agent. Can you make a plug-in that saves these preferences per web site so I don’t have to make so many clicks? Or better yet, make it like AdBlockPlus, and have a user-submitted database of these settings so it is totally automatic?

I have a website exactly the size of the device it will be used on. I would like to disable scrolling. Is that possible?

Users can disable the “Left-right”scrolling action within Dolphin Browser HD, just go dolphin menu then “More->Settings”, you can find an option named “Enable Swipe action”.
Is it by design that the sidebar cannot be hidden in landscape mode? It takes up a lot of space and also makes it impossible to see the right side of the page.

Thanks for your info. Maybe you can try to clear cache or data in your phone settings “Settings->Applications->Manage Application”, find dolphin and click to get access to the manage page, you can find the clear cache and clear data option. Just click the button to save your space.

What does the pinch zoom icon look like I can’t find it on my Samsung Moment
Go Dolphin Menu and then “More->Settings->Show pinch-zoom button”, it is a bar on the bottom right corner on the screen.
I’ve been using the hd browser for months and I love it. But in all the time I still have yet to see the pinch zoom icon or whatever it’s called appear anywhere on the screen.
I’m still able to use the feature and have tried multiple times toggling the option in settings but still is invisible.
No suffering here but thought you’d like to know. Even with 3.0 upgrade.

After the upgrade update I lost all bookmarks no on the stock browser and all pages on the read it later list, both outcomes kind of sucked. But issues occur when kicking the new technologies!

Is it currently possible to get the google and ebay add-ons to search any site other than the US ones – i.e. use ebay.co.uk instead of ebay.com?
It may even be prefereble to add “default site” to the add-on options and allow people to choose which of the available sites should be used for searches.
I’ve just upgraded Android from 1.5 to 2.1 and had issues some with the “regular” Dolphin browser. It started ignoring any input from me, so I upgraded to HD. I didn’t actually expect it to be quite as different as it is

I can no longer get the text to fit the screen after pinch/zooming. The text previously would get larger then reformat to fit on the screen so I only had to scroll down to continue reading, now I have to scroll across too.
What happened?
Maybe caused by system upgrade, but you can double tab to fit the screen after pinch-zoom.

Hi, I’ve been using the HD browser for a few days on my Vibrant and I really like it except for one glitch, which is that the pinch-to-zoom ceases to work at times. I’ve found that if I go into settings menu and toggle the “Show pinch-zoom button,” it gets reset. Also, is there a way to make the Bookmarks default into tile view? The list view is largely unusable if you have a lot of bookmarks. This could be solved with Bookmarks folders (maybe on a later release?).

Why is Dolphin ALWAYS loading the mobile sites, e.g. m.gmx.net or m.Facebook.com…
How to change?
Change the user agent in your settings, just go Dolphin Menu, and then “More->Settings->User Agent”, change it from “Android” to “Desktop” and then you can enjoy the full version of these sites.

Unfortunately I lost my gestures after upgrade as well and I had personalpersonalized all available, tried your solution but no go no show, not sure if I want to go through the whole effort again.
Still an amazing browser and would recommend to all. And if you’re a Dolphin HD BROWSER Virgin, you won’t have the upgrade problems with all your saved schweetness.

Hello. I really like you browser but I have run into a problem. Yesterday, my device (HTC Hero) corrupted my SD card and apparently the gestures were stored there. Now I have none. Is there a way to restore the default gesture settings without losing my bookmarks and other stored information? Thanks in advance!
Go “Gesture settings” and choose “Restore to default”, it will restore your gesture settings to default only, will not reset any other settings or bookmarks.
I like this nice program, and use it on 2.1 /legend for some month.
But i do not know how to open an ebook (.epub): If I click on the link, it opens the file in the browser (unreadable !). In the same time, the native android browser ask me which program to use to open it.

Long press the link and you will find a pop up menu, get “Save link” option.

I have a Droid 1 on Froyo 2.2 FRG22D. When I am trying to read a page column (web page column has been zoomed to screen width) I read to the bottom of the screen, I use my finger to scroll and the page jump back to the top. Something is wrong with the screen scrolling using ones finger.

Great browser on Droid X. Anyway to group bookmarks into folders? I have a few sites I don’t look at too often, but would like to be able to add to folders where they would be easy to find (Traffic Cams, .gov sites, etc). Thanks

Hi, My browser of choice but one problem I have is downloading mp3s. I use a site called rcrdlbl.com but when I try and save mp3s I get “downoad unsuccessful”. I can download them using Opera browser but this isn’t a good browser for anything else. I’ve tried download crutch but this doesn’t help.

When trying to search the web or type a URL, I’m finding that the suggested options (usually having nothing to do with the address I’m trying to reach) take predecence over the URL I’ve entered myself. Is there any way to turn off the suggestions or hide them?

Does samsung wave s8500 run the dolphin hd perfectly? please do not get mixed up with dolfin which is preinstalled in the s8500.
As I Know that samsung s8500 works on a system named “Bada”, which is different from the Android.
How do I hover the mouse on a link, e.g. to see popups, without getting the dolphin context menu?

I am experiencing a problem veiwing Facebook with the latest Dolphin HD update. I just updated my Motorola A855 to android 2.2 (froyo), and also updated Dolphin HD to the latest version. After these updates, the full html facebook site is not loading properly.
It seems to be some odd glitch, and not that it can’t load it properly-
Regargless of what page or profile I am veiwing using the “touch” site, if I click the “full site” link the corresponding full-site page loads properly. However, if I try to navigate to another page, whether on my profile or another person’s, the core of the page will not load. The edges and header will load, but nothing else. Refreshing the page does not resolve the issue nor does clearing the cache, history, HTML5 data, or restarting the phone.
Please let me know what to do to resolve the glitch. Thanks, Thomas

On the Dell Streak with Android 2.1 it doesn’t recognize left and right swipes (in landscape mode) to open close the bookmark/toolbar sidebars. The bookmark sidebar is ALWAYS open with no way to close it making the surfing window only 2/3 of the screen. This occurs ONLY in landscape mode, in portrait mode the swipe works as it should. Is there anything I can do or is this a known issue?

I have the same behaviour using a ZT-180. Also using Android 2.1.
Maybe you can try to use the “Back” key on your pad or try “Menu” key. We didn’t receive the testing device so we can not reproduce your bug. If it does help, please let me know.
It does this on Samsung Captivate as well. I can make that side bar go away in portrait mode, but it will not go away in landscape.
Some users with Dell Streak reported this bug days ago. We are now waiting for the our test devices and we will fix this bug ASAP.
Same on the Wits 81A with Android 2.2 Froyo

Is there a way to open a New Tab and have the New Tab load the URL set for our homepage or one you specify? I believe it used to be like this before, but now when a New Tab is opened it opens to a Dolphin page that lists the last 5 recently closed tabs as well as links to FAQ, Survey, etc. I just want it to go straight to a URL that I specify. Any insight?
Actually you can go to your home page just in one-click, click the “Home” button on the top left of the Dolphin HD.
I dont knoq what happpened but my phone dosen’t recognize my memory card. I cant save anything i cant manage my apps. My contacts are messes up. Is there anyway i can fix this?
i use the browser to access a page served by another computer on my local wlan. the ip of this machine is (locally) set to be 10.0.0.4 and it is not accessible from the outside. the browser finds the pages served by 10.0.0.4 allright, but it stops for each access for several seconds; the progress bar advances to 10% and waits there for second! there is no such stop when i use a notebook to access the same server with firefo). this delay is very annoying – it occurs the same with other browsers on the android.
do you have any idea, what causes this delay? and how can it be avoided? (it seems the browser is waiting for a timeout on looking up 10.0.0.4) using traceroute on a notebook does not show anything special and gives rapid replies.
Love the browser! Now I must find out if it’s available for my mac. I will be buying it to remove the ads. Thanks for such a great alternative. Peace.

I don’t get the create new gesture choice when I go to the section specified in the faq.
All I get is “no gesture” and if I press the menu key all I get is “reset to default”

If you cannot access Android Market from your device, you can still download Dolphin Browser or Dolphin Browser HD on other 3rd party markets, like GetJar. Search Dolphin Browser HD in the market and you can download the application APK directly to your device.
